Stranger Than Fiction Poem by MARINA GIPPS

Stranger Than Fiction

Rating: 5.0

How is it one may love endlessly as if longing for the final drop
to funnel out from a frozen pipe in the old plumbing of a madhouse?
Beware, brazen girl for your red hair has caught fire many times.
You walk upright when the world is closing its eyes to you.
See yourself through cyclones with the shelter of no kisses.
End it all to see the beauty in a few scattered trees:
the limbless and numb, awaiting their perennial destruction.
Find the love of a man you once knew with the roughest branches
come back to you in the familiar binding of a long lost book.
