Stranglehold Poem by Chris O'Keeffe

Stranglehold

i take a deep breath and i take you in
your scent warms my body, god this is a sin.
Miles above the ground i think im flying.
My air cuts out, i think im dying.
I try to scream your name but i cant find the note.
Found the problem your hands around my throat.
my life is drifting from me, darkness envelops.
No.. dont stop lets see how this develops.
this pain you leave is slowly receding.
finish it now my nose is bleeding.
NO.. where are you going? !
WHY? ! the oxygen is flowing.
Life returns to me, my eyes are now open.
No.. not again my heart is broken.
I can scream again, i try to find your name.
but you are long gone, thus concludes our game.
a familiar scent warms the night air.
No.. not again.. its just not fair...

I don't mind admitting that this one completely baffles me. There is something here that I am missing. I simply don't understand the poem. The meaning is clothed in confusion. Whatever it means, it will require a lengthy explanation. Perhaps that is why there is none in the poem. GW62
