Strategic Moves Poem by Sharon Smith

Strategic Moves

Rating: 5.0

The principalities, the spiritual warfare
Oh how the deceit seeps in
Cunning maneourves on evil's behalf..
to keep the world wrapped up in sin

One that I will speak of
Though many will be hesitant to
'Oh they're only kids..don't spoil it now
the look on their faces..is why we do'

Yes, my friends..it's santa
Oh a happy, jolly fellow is he
Originally from a moving story
But the battle they do not 'see'

Santa is an anagram
Oh I wonder what it could be
The name of someone in black and red
No stranger to you and me! !

CHRISTmas Time, a Time to give
A celebration of the Lord above
santa..and his message..'I want, I want'
Is far from the message of Love

It's all about getting..what he can bring
'I want this..I want that..and more'
No simplifying..parents are broke
and satan is keeping score

How stressful is the day for those
'Oh it's worth the look on their face'
Do you REALLY believe that..are we lying to them
being caught up in the dark one's pace?

The figure of santa..a commercial attempt
To sell a product to the public at hand
coca-cola invented in the 1900's
Just a character in this land.

The warfare is of morals and principals
fought above the earthly heads
More the kids..parents in debt
Is it happiness he really sheds?

Are you dreading the day three months before?
Are you still paying off last years event?
Did you feel guilty for those that have almost none
The more and more you spent?

Keeping the story of santa alive
'I want' is what they are saying
Just a few gifts, from mum and dad..
Will still keep them happy and playing

The the Birth of Christ will be celebrated
To satans disgust and dismay..
As satan starts early..yes even with kids..
to try and steal from Christ His Day.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
If you were to ask a child what Christmas is, the majority would say 'santa and what he will bring them'.

Strategies! !

Just think about it..do you enjoy Christmas with peace and Love in your heart or are you dreading it months in advance and lay-bying an obscene amount of gifts that you feel you 'have to buy' for so many and are still paying off well into the new year? ? Where is the joy of giving there? ?
