Strike It Through
What I love Christianity for? -
that it strikes earthly life through,
teaches to use it only for God.
Laitman spits on this life too.
Laitman spits on this life with smile,
and his gait is rapid and light,
Laitman's thinking is always high -
Wise in waistcoat and kipa.
Strike it through by the blue gem -
blue Sapphire - the stone of nuns,
gem of innocence and pure love,
Moses wrote ten commands on them!
It's King Solomon's 'shall pass' ring,
It is striking - you cannot breath,
it's breathtaking - you cannot live.
The last row - Saint John revealed.
Blue sapphire is cooling passion,
pulls the sight to soul-pure sky.
Only diamond stone - the hardest -
may cause scratches to true sapphire.
The sapphire's hardness is 'nine'.
And my birth date - four times by nine.
Only diamond has 'ten' -
the completeness of higher gem.
It's my birthmonth September ring,
stands between me and Daniel Brick,
When it grows as big as breast,
doesn't let even look through it!

Он - с походкой легкой и верной,

их любви невинной и чистой,

Моя дата - четыре девятки,
Только твердость алмаза - десять,
в завершенности бриллианта.
Моего сентября кольцо,
между Бриком стоит и мной,
и когда до груди дорастет -
не дает посмотреть на его.

Liza, I had typed a response filling almost all of this message box when it all disappeared - again this happens! - I don't know what is going wrong so my new computer and I will go to the Geek Squad and engage them to either correct the computer's functioning or my handling of it. // I have new things to say about the blue gem and new mysteries about it too. I also like the way Laitman is a permanent presence in your poems. Since you have made him so familiar to me, I can grasp the significance of his appearances. In one sense, his presence is not so much Laitman the writer as Laitman the symbol. He symbolizes confidence in divine grace, certainty about the eventual success of the spiritual life, and in a poetic transformation his presence is angelic. I don't want to write Laitman is an angel because that a theological issue: he is a human being who through faith and good works has achieved a blessed condition I'm calling angelic. // Losing my first comment has made possible a wholly worthy alternative. I will re-do what is lost in a while. I want to look at both of the sapphire poems before writing about this epiphany.
