This life
I dedicate this life to someone greater
To someone higher
Someone wider
I dedicate this day
I dedicate it to freedom
To laughter
Joy
I dedicate this hour
All my thoughts
Into his hands
I dedicate this now
I give this second
Split the second into two
And its still dedicated
Entirely life
Devoted to Him
Fully and complete
Sorrow and pain
Happiness, ecstatically His
I want it to be said that my life meant more
That my life was fragrant
Fragrant with a love so divine, so compelling
I am fulled
I am complete
So lets get back to it
Lets trace the untraceable
The unpredictable
The indescribable life that describes how I choose this way
The Zim-bab-way
Mobray hospital
Observatory with a bunch of so called “hippies” and ex-freedom fighters
Political activists
I walk through this highway of love
On a bed of dreams
Floating on a cloud of safety
Knowing that if I slip
If I fall
(No, not “if”, but “when” is more correct)
If I fall, I will bounce back
Bounce back into the arms of the one who loves me
I dream of what I dreampt before
I dream of a place ive never been
But the dream reminds me of a place so familiar
It scares me
It gets me thinking
Even drinking on some government juice
Trying to pay my tax and just breaking loose
Crusing on a train going North or South
Or was it west?
I can’t remember
All I know is that this makes no sense
All I know is that it is empty without a God who holds the pieces together
Without a creator that engages with mere mortals
A friendship so powerful but yet at the same time vulnerable
Authentic
Truth envisioned
Truth enacted
Truth displayed
But I can live this life
Why is that? (People may ask me)
And I’m not ashamed to reply that its
‘Cos it’s the only kind of life for me to live
this poem redefined freedom.....never loose your freedom! well done Jess
