Abused
Feeling threatened
She hides away in the corners
Waiting
Hoping
That this time you will use your manhood to build up
Instead of to crush a woman
Beaten
You left her all alone
After you kicked her
Bruised her
And threatened to take her life
Forgotten
Now she lies there in the dark
Waiting
Hoping
Praying that this time would be the last
Abused
because some beast of a man forgot
That his manhood
Was there to
Protect
Nurture
Lead
Beaten
And no one can help her
Cos YOU said sorry
And THEY forgave you
Saw the remorse in your eyes
But left her powerless
Feeling shamed
Forgotten
Just like millions of women
She used her VOICE to cry out
But no one heard her
And THEY didn’t bother to defend her
Until it was too late
NOW
They say kind words
Some kind of comfort
Words of outcry
But this is too late
thanks for letting me know about your poem.its really great.i feel like its the unheard voice of millions of women finally crying out to the world...great work..
It reads like a true story, so I have to address it as such. It is a sad, sad situation when something like that happens to anyone. I feel the pain and the loss in your poem. Needless to say it is well written but I wanted to address it as real instead of just saying a great poem. I will read more of your work and thanks for the invite. J. L. Price
