Strong Enough Poem by Lori Gilbert

Strong Enough

Wanted to escape the past
But the feeling of fear held me back
Tried to fight back with all I had
Hoped to see the good when all I saw was bad
Fought so hard that my body became sore
Felt like my heart couldn't take anymore
Being weak was no longer an option for me
Not being strong enough was less than I could be
Got knocked down but rose back up
No longer in a downward slump
You see me now to prove I'm tough
Tough enough to be strong enough
