Strong Love Poem by Cody A. Buckmaster

Strong Love

That special voice that first greeted me
The special tone that forever changed my life
My heart was locked, but you found the key
This heart seemed to be as cold as ice

The concerts that I’ve heard you sing
So beautiful and pure
I felt I could soar as if I had wings
I have never been so sure

You’re soon going to be happy
Away from that house you hate
I know it sounds so sappy
But soon a life together, we can create

I will never be perfect
I have screwed up many times in my life
I may have lost all your respect
It happens once, but never twice

Forgiveness is hard to earn
But you are different than any other
Maybe one day I will burn
Until then, the truth I will never cover

You are the special kind of girl
One that is loved by all
Deserving more than just a pearl
On my knees I will crawl

Soon there will only be sun shine
Philosophers call it love
And soon you will be all mine
Wearing white, we will watch that final dove
