Student Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Student

Student

I am a student
A university student
In classes; oldest student
Grade-wise, an upper student
But most important, poor student

I am a student
Well-experienced
Open to my surrounding
Look around like hungry wolf
I see the things, implicitly, explicitly

A card on the table
A girl holding a thick book
A girl reading the things to herself
And a guy sharp in hearing like the dogs
Many eat breakfast, in rush, with black coffee

Essays
Assignments
And more & more
The card says; business
Degrees are needed for work
University wants money; business
I study for my class and it is all business

I came with love
I came in search, to learn
I am disappointed, money, money
Where are the values, the human values
Days that humanity had another meaning, faith
In each other and in some God to domain humanity

Things have changed
Even poetry, as they call it
No rhythm, no metric, no balance
I'm tired, tired of this nonsense, expanded
Worthlessness, I hate Brits, they put money in center
