Suddenly

The flannel petals of a scarlet butterfly
That landed fearlessly on my breast
Reminded your eyelashes and your smile,
The way you feast your eyes upon my face.

I did remember each warm word of yours
And your exulted breath erupting love.
And suddenly I understood you aren't a hoax
And all your vows are true, my gentle dove.
