Summer Poem by Cait Oiler

Summer

Somehow we've ended up so far away,
Distant to what we once were,
Contention plagues us now,
Can you take me back to that day?

The road seemed so long,

And as the wheels kept rolling,
We fell into life and enjoyed every minute,

Kiss me like you did that day,
Hold me as if this was the end of everything,
But this is a new summer,
We are older, changed,
And ours was years since passed,
I'll leave myself there,
Sitting next to you,
Driving off into the bright future.
