Summer Lights Poem by maitreyi menon

Summer Lights

summer ends,
when the beautiful lies,
drenched in pain,
our heart is in vain.
Starlight's afraid,
To outshine the moon,
And i am afraid,
To show up my wound.
Life is a web,
Of clocks and traps,
Packed enough to start a fight
Pieces of my heart, scattered.
But i tried to cover up with all my might
Curtains are blue,
My windows open,
I tried to fly but
I couldn't fly away
I could see the light,
In a distance far away,
Always bleeding hope,
That i will reach it,
That i will reach it
