Summer Storm Poem by Michael DawesSmith

Summer Storm

From an enormity of morning
To a furnace tortured noon
Until every breath and sound is stilled
In a steamy aspic
And then...

The sky blooms cauliflower mountains
Soothes the brow of the land with misty silk
And slakes its thirst with inverted fountains
