Sun Filled Petals Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Sun Filled Petals

Rating: 5.0

Within darkened shadows of the mind
inspiring thoughts begin to embrace
the warmth of a single glowing candle
dismisses a chill… emptiness is erased

Frozen bones that were once stationary
begin to limber…revising significance
elevating the soul….changing a moonless
night into a rhapsody of stars that entrance

Gathering oil paints, brushes. and canvas...
motivated to capture the magnificence of common
things that were overlooked or simply ignored...
walking on a sunlight path near a small garden

Rising far above all others is a visual delight
a chorus of huge beaming maize colored flowers
lifting their heads… searching the blue heavens
being immortalized by an artist in several hours

The darkness will never imprison thoughts again
The sun filled petals give a sense of lasting certainty
as they continue in full bloom…there is no sadness
only room for happiness as far as the eye can see
