Sunrise Poem by James Trotter

Sunrise

Staring at the dawn sky
I see hope
Not to overcome disaster
Or to come out of a slump
But to know that there's something left
Something that won't ever go away
Won't leave you
Won't abandon you in the night
As long as the earth spins
As long as humans exist
The sunrise will be there
A new day will start
I'll know that I woke
And didn't die in my slumber
And a journey begins
I'll pray that my insomnia will last
And I can see the night until the sun rises
And hope returns
Only then will I go to sleep

That was a really nice poem, its hard to keep the reader interested when it doesn't rhyme. Although that was an exception to the rule. Well written!
