Sunset Poem by Sheri Green

Sunset

Ribbons of lavender and pink fill the sky
With the setting of the days lone eye

The dark of the night will soon descend
As the twilight's pale grows so dim

The songbirds settle in trees for the night
As night birds take flight in the dying light

And a gentle breeze blows across the grass
Quiet whisperings of those days long past

So my thoughts turn to memories of you
As I watch the sun fade from my view

There will be times my love may seem to set
But remember it will always rise
As it has done since that day we first met
