Super Nin̈o Coming
Rain has poured, the wind has blown,
Summer heat, and winter's groan.
You think the weather's been a fright?
Hold on tight, for what's in sight.
Across the land, the earth is dry,
Not just one state, but many cry.
The puddles gone, the rivers low,
More of this, we're told, will grow.
A giant wave, a warming tide,
In the ocean, far and wide.
Not just a little, but a lot,
A 'Super Niño, ' boiling hot.
It stirs the air, it shifts the breeze,
Puts great big problems on the seas.
The fish are sad, the food is gone,
Trouble brewing, before the dawn.
The north will bake, the land will crack,
No rain to fall, no turning back.
Canada, and states so near,
Will face a dry and scorching year.
But it's not just here, this power's vast,
From shore to shore, the die is cast.
Chile will weep with rain so deep,
While down in Oz, dry sorrows creep.
Indonesia, dust and heat,
South Asia's rains, a wild defeat.
Even the UK, far away,
Will see strange weather, night and day.
Cold winters bite, summers soar,
Beyond what's happened here before.
A shaky time, the world will learn,
As weather's anger starts to burn.
