Superstitious - Poem by Stevens Cadet

Time to introduce; The man without a clone
A man apart but my mind is still up in my home
Cause dad is no longer home
Statistics though they ain't involved
A different problem I now gotta solve.
Drop dead, I'm 17 thinking what is going on
Cause for 17 I gratefully had one....
Father, who didn't choose to up & run
My train of thought is done…
For all that kid shit
Only son so now what began to hit..
Acted like I got a kid & I gotta sponsor this,
Name I was given, last Cadet for this mission.
I envision, a novel of these lyrics
When his beat went acapella.
Knowing my mother feels this
Mental scriptures depicted into vision
But my lyrics hieroglyphics, making pictures of what's flashing in my mind
Call it Poetic Wisdom
(Go ahead & snap yo fingers)
Although my lil john rapped up
I'm not really rockin with the....
'Bitches' cause simply they don't hear this
Thinking I'm a dog cause I'm gone after I get it
Tell them it's back to the mission
I'm reflecting but God is what they vision
Viewing what I did a little different
This is my expedition to admission of College living,
All your opinions are superstitious

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I wrote this poem purposely knowing I would get opinions in the end for the choice of words I used. But I am a Poet and I did it for a deeper meaning. The beginning explains my early dilemmas and life struggles going into man hood that got me where I am today. I used the term 'bitches' for the women who chase men that are seen as 'dogs' because any women that usually chases a man of that nature most likely has her values mixed up and would never understand the type of things I speak of. So naturally as a young men, it is hard to avoid temptation to be with them (for a moment) but ultimately I get back to the mission of achieving my goals and distance myself which is why i call the guys 'niggas' for thinking I am God just for hitting it and leaving because they are being ignorant and just looking at me as a guy who gets all the girls and venturing off instead of seeing the big picture that the time that these females want is too busy spent on my goals. And thinking of all of this daily while including my expectations makes me feel all the weight on my shoulders, that I know is just wings on my back.

Interesting poem and I very much see where your coming from on this. It is an interesting choice of words but reading on I found that it was quite nesasary. (forgive me if the spelling is wrong on that) (Report) Reply

Though the poem is interesting, the poetical note is explaining a lot. Nice poem.. (Report) Reply
