Surrender Poem by Seema Jayaraman

Surrender

Rating: 5.0

He asked me to surrender -
All that was dear & precious to me
I offered, my money, my jewellery, my crystals
And every bit of external adornmentcarried upon my being
Even my android phone & the passwords
But he wanted more and
So I offered him my poetry
He accepted it and stood waiting, menacingly
In the end grabbing me by the arms
He hauled me up close and
nuzzled a whispered:
I want your heart
Lavishing it's undying passion upon me
He said, I want your soul,
the fountain head of
your heady poetry
To drown myself in the very same headiness & creativity
I want that essence,
that makes you so nubile, so fertile
I want your gutsy spirit
to squeeze out
The last drop of recklessness
Till I reek of you, till I am you -
wanton, wild and free

Thew greatest gift you offered after offering very asset is poetry which is the gift of love. A whisper is nuzzled and heart has tenderly accepted gift of love. Then soul is valued with love. A nice and expressive poem is beautifully presented. This is an excellent poem...10
