Survival Poem by Roselyn A.M.

Survival

I was so aggressive to swim
To call for a fight hoping to win
Didn’t give you the chance to lead
Not knowing my breathing is weak

I was nearly drowned in a pool of shame
Couldn’t lift up my hands to wave
I can’t shout, unable to call for help
I was holding my only last breath

Then suddenly you pulled me out of distress
You brought me above the surface of lies
Rescued me from the monster of doubts
Now I’m trying to access the air of pardon and love
