Survival Poem by Reyvrex Questor Reyes

Survival

As Mother Earth would shower all her grace,
And we as sons had suckled to her breasts,
As furtherance of life that keeps our race,
As did the progeny of all the beasts;
They came to share our space, the continuum,
And in fact lived longer in those times past,
Millions of years, ages at minimum,
And it's a wonder why they did not last;
Had Mother Earth been harsh, to them, turned sour?
After their stint of wanton life as kings?
Or their Fate, too, they did devour,
That even humans do, as the need brings?
.......Would life be much sweeter which long endures?
.......Or pain lengthened, if pain, it so conjures?
