Survivors Poem by Liilia Talts Morrison

Survivors

It was a sun filled breezy day
the kind Spring lambs enjoy
and daffodils with trilling birds
oft celebrate in May

Much like a lemming to the sea
I flew to meet my friends
the ones whose lives had once been dark
and now with light were cleansed

It was a meeting made for joy
bright moments to create
although beneath each sparkling face
the darkness lay in wait

I hope when thunder clouds appear
as they so often do
this touching of lost souls now found
would linger like the dew

It was a sun filled breezy day
the kind Spring lambs enjoy
and daffodils with trilling birds
oft celebrate in May.
