Swallow Poem by Nastasimir Franovic

Swallow

Rating: 5.0

Swallow

A swallow landed on my window.
She came early morning with a chirp
To awake me and scatter my doubts.
And so, she often came in the dawn
Distrustful and fragile but persistent to tell me.
She chirps about the distances she has flown.
Her wings caressed my soul.
I'm glad she flew in again
In her little black frock coat.
She mourned for the time passed by.
She talks to her patient listener.
Who himself grieves over the time passed by.
On his distant island, in a lonely lighthouse.
