Sweet Dreams Poem by Justina Nicole Haner

Sweet Dreams

I often think of you lying next to me
You should really learn to understand and see
That if given the chance we could be

We sometimes would lay in the hammock and look at stars
Instead of stargazing I now bear scars
Now we can't be because I'm behind bars

Often you would visit my faraway dream land
I enjoyed us being together and sitting in the moist sand
The best part was when you took my soft hand

You know I'll forever miss my sweet dream clouds
And now you broke my heart which now is very loud
With all the bad nightmares and frightening sounds

Most times we'll be having a good day in the sun
I'm happy we are able to have this much fun
To bad it ends with a bullet and small gun
