Sweet Friend Poem by Al J. Cuesta

Sweet Friend

Rating: 5.0

When she smiles, I feel just fine

When she spends, she spends my time

She spends it well for when I leave I tell

All my friends I was with her

If we do nothing, it's all cool and fine

If we do something, we make it worth our time

She leaves me always with something to write

A happy song, sung in my mind

My sweet friend, carries herself with joy

I jump on her ship, shout: "Sails ahoy! "

For we play like pirates, kids with a toy

Allowing myself to care a tidbit more

For my sweet friend, I would take that train

Jump on a plane flown by some-one insane

For we laugh like legislators, who make the rules

And I mingle around free, free to be me

My sweet friend's a pool of delight

Spanish silver, golden locks of silk

N' two blue diamonds she mistakes for eyes

A most curious surprise

From hazy sleepy mornings of kindled conscience

To crazy running sundowns and spellbound nights

We chase the hound till we feel its right

My sweet friend, stay well for 'tis just a matter of time

Till we laugh again.

A happy song, sung in my mind. Her presence makes me sing and then jot down on the paper it becomes a poem. t ony
