Sympathy; A Mere Emotion Poem by abhirami sudheesh

Sympathy; A Mere Emotion

How long could she keep running?
And why was she running?
She had answer for neither.

She did not have to run; staggering.
All she had left was her life,
And what he wanted was a little less than that.

He chased her down alleys and roads,
Until he got hold and pinned her down.
Breath came as gasps, as she counted her last seconds.

She did not know what he saw on her face,
Whatever it was, she was grateful.
As the lust vanished from his eyes.

It was replaced by some other emotion.
It was not something she had ever seen-
It was not something he had ever felt either.
