Synesthesia Poem by Hm. Nes

Synesthesia

The sleigh bell music dances
Raspberry-colored on the snow-
O see and not just hear its jingled voice
And marvel at the magic
Of a synesthetic show
In living color- see the sounds rejoice

The cello's somber song in
Hues of yellow gold to see
Like honey dripping from the honey comb-
Each note, a cloud, wafts heavenward-
Painted clouds- O Synesthete!
A treasure rich but hid as by a gnome

Content are most to hear each
Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti
While gifted few can see their streams of light-
The colors of the rainbow
Joined in one great symphony
Of synesthetic wonder and delight
