Synonymous Flooding



feel free to just sit there, quiet and calm

while i burn away, like they sing in psalms

i took two steps into heaven on earth

and fell down to hell, deep under dirt.

the floodwaters recede back whence we came

and you’ve left me to rot, so we’d be the same.
