T3 Poem by RIC BASTASA

T3

you must have noticed
that in all my stories i am always the hero

precisely that is what history is all about,
the storyteller is the survivor, the victor

triumphant one
the lone survivor shall always tell direct from the horse's mouth

i know that sometimes you suspect
if the king is telling a lie or that the princess is having false teeth

i keep mum to all those suspended beliefs
i have my stories only for myself, on limited edition

not even my wife knows about the emperor's clothes
he is naked, the child laughs

i am in the marketplace and i don't give a damn
about rip van winkle or that rapunzel

what i have inside my room are the true ones
someone is killed and the murderer is a rich man still at-large..
