Please, take away your torch
for so hot and bright is the light
how lovely and charming are the scenes, maybe,
give me darkness just a few minutes,
and let me stay alone, doing nothing like a corpse,
taking much pleasure from formless things.
Please, take away your floating sounds
for so noisy and gibbering is the life, maybe
the best melodies of the world
let me be deaf and dumb for a moment
listening to the quiet songs.
Please, take away everything from me
and do forget me for a second,
for so heavy and burdensome are the possessions
let me try to cut out and quit away
from the strings and bounds
that tied me to the world.
