Take Me Home Poem by Sam Reid

Take Me Home

Rating: 5.0

One but such a symbol twisting in the night
Light skies of hope glitter in the morning dew
Fly down from Heavens O'mighty peaks above
And bathe me in the last of sunshines frozen rays
I seek sad eyes in darkness waiting
Wings spread wide now catch winds fierce
Yanking from high cliff perch to open seas below
A cadence one but not me can only hear
Soft sweet breathe upon my face
Open skies so free so wild
Take away ones I've held dear
Come back again my tears to still
Falling falling ever down
Hand pull back up the sad truth prevailing
Tread the sky the alarm to sound
Heartbeat thunder across graying sky
Rain smattering ground does fall
New beginnings just found hide
Stillness of thought slow to imperceptance
Whisper in my soul the lie to trade
Cast aside for truth be ever-known
One but such a symbol twisting in the night
Light skies of hope glitter in the morning dew
Fly down from Heavens O'mighty peaks above
And bathe me in the last of sunshines frozen rays

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Was looking through the Quoutations about Angels and listening to my favorite music station and was overcome with the need to write this.
