The Unfathomed Kingdom Poem by Sam Reid

The Unfathomed Kingdom

Rating: 5.0

Dancing in the wind
Racing through the wheat
Looking for the next bend
Heart pumping to the beat

Thunder thunder
Run and run
Stars shining brighter
Wind a constant hum

Jump and leap
Through the fields
Across where the farmers reap
Away from knightly shields

Hope and sing
Let your dreams free
Hear the autumn ring
Things you'll never foresee

A spattered star
Shines up in the sky
Something you can never mar
Makes you want to fly

A silent thrum
The will is silent
A scared child cannot run
Caught up in this endless moment

You scream awake
Heart a humming bird in a cage
The dream is still opaque
In it a bloody stage

The silent kingdom
Full of wonder, full of fear
Slowly it comes undone
A place you will never go near
