Take Me To A Mirage - Poem by Munia Khan
Take me to a mirage
A mirage so real
A mirage that is never an illusion
Nor ever a lush oasis
I want to feel it
Not from the distance
But from the nearness
Of the distorted reality
That’s never been deserted
By this refracted world
Take me to a mirage
A mirage so real
A mirage that is never on the sea
Nor ever on the hot desert sand
I want to embrace it
Without touching
The misleading appearance
Where the density of any warm soul
Is less than that of the wicked
For the rays of the world
Are now bent to produce
The inverted image of the living being.
Written on the night of the 9th December,2010
