Talking Of Michael Morpurgo Poem by Edwin Hopper

Talking Of Michael Morpurgo

School boys at bus stops, some fighting some shy.
Older ones think they should try to imply,
that may be its time to kiss on the sly,
Girls with their blouses, on purpose, awry,
and sod the dress code, they never comply.

So who told you that? It's a total lie.
You saw my picture on the world wide eye?
Smash phone in your face. You dirty spy.
But it's on line now. You can't deny.
This is e world kid. Old rules don't apply.
You privacy's gone, your rude end is nigh,
till rocks melt in the sun till seas are dry.
Your selfies out forever. No. Don't cry.

Wow. A Text. Don't want to miss.
A boy in year eleven.
Says he likes me. Wants to kiss.
He'll pick me up at seven.

In their class the teachers come and go,
talking of Michael Morpurgo
