Tangled/Tied Poem by Jeremy Williams

Tangled/Tied

Messy situations
Always keep me waiting
Don’t know how
Cause I try and live for the now
But there they are
Always in my path
Taking things out of my grasp
Not sure how to explain
What it is I’m trying to say

Getting tangled
Getting tied
Never knowing why
What have I done this time?

Was it my fault?
I’m not to blame.
Silly things
Always getting in the way
Friendships torn
Loyalties untied
Always knowing why
But never admitting
Who was to blame.

Getting tangled
Getting tied
Never knowing why
What have I done this time?

Messy situations
Always in the way
Living for yesterday
Never for today
I want the moment
I want my time
No more issues
To drag behind
The heavy burden
I want to unload

Getting tangled
Getting tied
Never knowing why
What have I done this time?

Silly moments
Like spilt drinks
On a white carpet
Need cleaning
A new slate
A time to breathe
One moment
Just to be
Me

Getting tangled
Getting tied
Never knowing why
What have I done this time?

No more issues
Broken hearts
Unsaid feelings
Mistaken kisses
Hidden meanings
No more messing
Up the time
This is life
Getting tangled
Getting tied
But who’s to blame?
