Tannakin (Scene 20) Poem by John Fenton Mcleish

Tannakin (Scene 20)

scene 20
*
a new day
*
The months and years pass. The house is left empty.Suddenly the front doors open(another family has bought the house) , and children run in.They run from room to room exploring their new house. All the rooms are empty and absent of furniture. They run upstairs.A young boy about five enters anne's old study. The room is white, the curtains are open and light pours through the windows. The only item in the room is anne's old desk.He sees it and runs over to it.He climbs up on the chair and opens the desk.He rummages through the manuscripts and papers. He picks one of the manuscripts up but can't read it.His older sister runs over and snatches it from him.She reads the title on the page, 'Romeo and Juliet'.

the end
