'Task No More' Poem by Trevor Valentine

'Task No More'

'Task No More'
by Valentine

A walking angel, or an English rose?
I task myself to choose.
For both can live amongst us
Sometimes hidden from our view
Both toil quietly
Both are there to give support
For a drop of rain or a falling tear
Both magnify the beauty
Both bring joy and fend off sorrow
Both lead and do not follow
Both give but do not judge
Both bring unconditional love
Now both the feather and the petal fly
So task no more
And forgive me if I chose
For I now see both before me
Both an angel, and, a rose.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A poem to my late mother. I was lucky in having two dear mothers, one 'in-law', but still very special, both of them.
