'Blue Water' Poem by Trevor Valentine

'Blue Water'

'Blue Water'
by Valentine

At the top of your mountain
There is crystal clear vision
With ice and perhaps snow
All around

Where every insight is amplified
And loud, undeniably distinct
The clarity is deafening
You've found

No clouds, no rain, just sun
And brilliantly so, the ice glistens
Just like a heaven to you
But perhaps a hell

Is it a veil of sweet Morpheus you see
Where the comfort and dreams
Children and dragons
Are real?

Does it envelop, surround and embrace you
A warm bosom, a blanket
Ever comforting, ever safe
Ever sure?

But, as the ice melts and the vista distorts
Does a chasm appear underneath you
Is the vision no longer
So pure?

Take my hand, if you will let me
For it is no chasm you see
No opening doorway to hell
But a haven

The snow and the ice will follow no doubt
They will pace and will race
Through your veins and the streams
Coldly calling

Be sure though, my friend, at the foot of the hill
That calmness awaits with real pleasure
Not a panacea, for sure
But better...

Blue water.

A well articulated train of thought nicely penned with insight. Thanks for sharing Travis.

Thank you. Any 'insight' I would stress is purely perceived, not experienced, gladly.
