'The Bitter Sea'

Talk to me, we are listening
Taken out by the bitter sea
You ebbed and flowed
But did not return.

And the light that used to guide us
Is now gone;
The stern spring
Secured an early winter
Stopped short
By the cruel, bitter sea.

But, we are still listening...
