Tavarish Ayatollah Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Tavarish Ayatollah

Tavarish ayatollah

The calls keep coming in
Call, Call, Call
All the same; purpose is:
"Do you know that he died? "
Approaches similar
All happy in a way!
The best is: "Keep silent! "

I met him years ago and shook hands
I was an officer, uniformed
He, mullah! Khomeini's bodyguard.

Intention? "Stop fight! "

The later encounters were very different
He was the president
I had own business in Dubai.

Veteran to Iran, accepted the offers
Karimi, Beizai, talked with me as agents
Wanted help to install rubber plants, factories.

I liked the idea
Plans of Shah's time.

"Bravo, " I said to:
"People who follow brain regardless
If it is enemies' or friends'."

Later though
Things changed when
Thanks to him, his mistakes
‘Returnees from war, got power, roamed around;
His close relatives were free, corrupted
Many things, many lives by using relations! '
One loser was me who spent time in the jails…
There took notes and meant to write some books
With his death all of that is only history?

What to say to callers?
Simply chose silence…
