Tear-Stained Face Poem by Lacey UnKnown

Tear-Stained Face

Rating: 2.5

As a hand dries my tear-stained face
I stop my tears and softly breathe
'Who's there? ' I call to someone unseen
No answer comes, but the hand remains
So soft, so still on my tear-stained face
The hand is gentle, but I still feel afraid
The minutes fly by with no answer
'Who's there? ' I whisper, softer still
With silence unbroken my fear grows stronger
I tremble as I turn to see the face,
The face that belongs to the gentle hand

I look all around, there is no one in sight
The hand is gone from my tear-stained face
'Where did you go? ' I let out an angiushed cry
As fresh tears rolled down my cheeks
'You were never alone.' A strong voice says
The hand is again on my tear-stained face
'Who are you? ' I whisper, afraid to look
'Your Father' he chuckles though I see no joke
And He wipes the tears from my face
