Teardrops Poem by Shweta Nair

Teardrops

A tear forms in her eye.
try hard as she may,
She cannot stop a cry.
Shatters the silence of the night.
The quiet of slumber surrounds.
And into her pillow she speaks.
Her heart broken vows.

As the tear runs its course.
Drops of her tender chin.
A picture is on her mind foremost,
A man, gotten under her skin.
Deep-seated were the passions,
Hidden under were the memories.
All she saw was the smile that took it all away.

Try as she may,
the tears flow on.
The sheets she straddles,
tells the tale of her anguish.
Her joy, for all to see,
Her pain only a few aware of.
The dark reveals all that's Hidden in daylight;

Each drop that falls from her lash,
Is a story of its own.
Each tremble she suppresses,
Is a mark on her soul.
Tears of the night, stay hidden.
For none to witness.
The day is a struggle her own to fight.
Memories of him, her own to treasure.
