Tears Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Tears

Tears, the piercing arrow that broken our heart,
Fall like raindrops from the sky,
A symbol of the pain we cannot deny,
They burn our cheeks and sting our eyes.

As we try to hold back our desperate cries,
Who hasn't shed tears on this earthly plain?
Whose heart has not been touched by life's inevitable pain?

We are but mere mortals, vulnerable to fate,
And our tears reveal the stories of love and hate,
We weep for the loss of those we hold dear,
For the shattered dreams and the unspoken fear.

For the mistakes we've made and the chances we've missed,
For the love we've lost and the memories we've kissed,
We are the benefactors of life's bitter sweet,
For every joy, there's a tear to greet.

I have cried my cry,
Seen my soul drowned in tears,
And though we may try to hide and conceal,
Our tears reveal what we truly feel.

We are the victims of our own mistakes,
And the tears we shed are the price we must pay,
For the lessons we learn and the growth we achieve,
As we navigate this journey, trying to believe.

Generations come and go, time passes by,
Humans cannot defined the enviable of unmeasurable tears,
And yet, tears remain a constant in our lives,
For humans cannot express the unmeasurable pain.

That flows through our souls like a never-ending rain,
So let our tears fall, let them cleanse our soul,
For every tear shed, brings us closer to our goal,
And though our hearts may break and our spirits may bend.

Tears remind us that our humanity will never end,
So let us not fear the tears that we cry,
For they are the testament to a life well lived,
And though we may grieve and mourn for what's lost,
Tears are the poetry of our hearts, a price worth the cost.
