Teenage Dreams Poem by Shannon Atherton

Teenage Dreams

If I could be somebody else
Other than just me
I'd be the one that's popular
With friends from A - Z

I'd be the really sporty one
Who's always coming first
Or the one who's good at listening
When others are at their worst

I'd be the one who's selfless
Or the one that's really bright
I'd be dead good with children
And help them sleep at night

I'd be the really pretty one
The one that's super slim
Instead I'm just plain old me
With this body I'm stuck in.
