Tell Me Poem by angella wangari kariuki

Tell Me

Tell me who told the story.
the story, of a girl who cried and shed no tears.
tell me who told the story of a girl,
who shed no tears when she cried.

She instead trusted the rain to fall,
to wash away the tears.
while she cried,
those tearless tears
.
She instead trusted,
the friends and people,
and answers, and questions, and opinions, and reasons, and excuses,
so as to, not cry those tearless tears..

Tell me who told the story of a girl
who cried and shed no tears

Baffled are the lies, she told that scorn her.
exiting to the left,
enter on the right,
peel me away, slip me off.
tell me who told the story,
of the girl,
who cried and shed no tears.

Clouded are, her and the thoughts she delved deep
to ursurp.
a strong hold that cradled her inner being,
teary nights,
soaked to the bone.
reeking of salt,
tasted bitter.
tell me who told the story
of a girl who cried and shed no tears.
