Tell Me - Poem by Cynthia Sandoval

How did this happen?
To me,
To you.
I love you so much,
But you don't seem to understand
That the cuts on my wrists,
were not there before.
I am crying for you to help me
Why do you turn your head?
Why won't you look me in the eyes?
I ask you over and over
And I always get the same answer,
You don't know.
Am I really that worthless now?
Do you really think so little of me?
That you are willing to throw it all away?
Believe it or not
This is somehow your fault
When you saw my wounds,
You said nothing.
When the blade kissed my skin
You kept quiet.
So now that I left you
You say you love me.
What happened to make you change your mind?
Was it the blood you saw,
making its way down my arm?
Or did you realize,
That it was your fault I decided to leave it all behind.
Now do you understand what happened to us?
To me?
To you?
Tell me do you understand why I bleed so much.
Tel me please.
I am begging you.
