Tell Me, Please. Poem by Sherouk Salama

Tell Me, Please.

Rating: 3.0

Mommy, Mommy, tell me please,
What's the meaning of war and peace?

War is something no one wants
constant sorrow in every heart.
nowhere for you to ride your bike,
and the sky is too full to fly your kite.

Mommy, speak no more.
I no longer want to know.
Just tell please, what is peace?

Son, nobody knows for sure.
your question touches a hardcore.

Mommy, I'll just go and play,
you've got nothing for me to say.

It's too early for you to know,
how evil this world has become.
War turns everything dark.
It snatches the light from your heart.
The truth you hear is just lie
and hate fills every eye.
Forgive me, son I can't tell about peace.
'cause what I tell you will be a lie.

Tell Me, Please.
