Tell The Keeper Of The Rib Poem by olu Akin

Tell The Keeper Of The Rib

Ah! Too soon to the surreptitious affairs,
Mourning days ebbs,
Energies revived, and to their decorated hides and seek
The which they dubbed in pretext pity
Sits carelessly and talks loudly of politics and chatters:
Unending indecorum and years of un-rebuked habits
Incorrigible,
As gangs of clandestine "matri"marauder conjures the ship to the harbour
They sip the dregs of unfinished licentious eyen
Brazenly conceals the lustful demeanor in cadences of harmless affection
And like Absalom sneaky, to regain her mistress
And feast on the lewd lust of unvoiced motives in despite of the oath
Dissipating energies unlike their comrade in the cult
Ready in ghetto-like brawl with a stanchion prop and fuel
Unusual condoling where tear drops tears the underwear
Beckoning on a betrothed at night flights to a cubbyhole
(Tell a sane man, it is not imbued two timing masked in favours)
He lugs out his intents to destroy it, the which he brags to do
To regain his mistress
Unlike his fellows watching the drama silently
The days are here, three nights again as at first or more
The announcement comes with a text, perhaps motivated
For her voyages to their ornamented stealthy lures
Till he satisfy the libidinous thirst and return the incorrigible mate which he once hosted
Question
Will he lend his rib for a night?
Is this mama's example?
What!
Is there no counsellor in his clan?
To rebuke the error of keeping a ribs without a word
