Testament Of Love Poem by Bireswar Halder

Testament Of Love

The blue sky is scythed by hateful spatter of blood
The air wafts with poisonous vapour
Only laments echo all around
And death-cry of the night

Blood spills out of hatred, paints the villages red
Homes burning, the homeless in wait for homes
Death is another name for life
Fear descends, the sky is spattered in red

Another leaf falls, sound of another death
Fear congeals in blood, fear is the name of life
Fearful faces in ghostly smiles
They do not know what is stored in their fate.

With tearful eyes a kid stares indifferently
She is orphan of the blood let loose
She silently invokes how hate orphaned her
Under the red sky, she waits, waits for a turn

Why blood seeks blood, why are they human?
Her innocence questions, her orphan tears drip down
Is peace only a dream, does peace die this way?
Her simplicity hateful blood never knew

No more blood, no more massacres
Somewhere love begins to speak
Let us all hear messages of love
Love sweeps each heart, peace reigns.
