Thank You Poem by Nicola Ann Jeremiah

Thank You

Thank you Lord for each day I live.
Each day is a gift to me you give.
Yet I grieve and complain,
And blame others for my sin.
I waste my time on fake earthly pleasures
unconcerned about heaven's true treasures
Still you forgive my weakness.
Still you heal my sickness.
Lord I feel your light in my darkness,
In my turmoil I feel your calmness.
Lord I feel your forgiveness in my sinfulness.
Your truth I feel in all my falseness.
Lord pardon me, for I am not worthy
Why do you even bother with a sinner like me?
Out of the silence you hush my tormented heart,
I love you, you say, we shall never be apart.
